An informative documentary aired last night (August 23) on one of Australia's premier current affairs programs, ABC's Four Corners, documenting the origins of the GFC and the probable, if not inevitable, future of the world economy.
Have you maxed out your credit card? Bought shares with borrowed money? Taken out a large home loan believing that prices always go up? Then you may be living on borrowed time. Filmmaker Martin Borgs takes a provocative look at the events leading up the Global Financial Crisis and asks if the attempts to avoid a ruinous collapse of banks and other major finance houses may set the world on the path to an even bigger meltdown.
Watch it at this link (43mins).

Here's another report from an Australian current affairs program, SBS Dateline, which documents the process by which the Israeli "justice" system facilitates the Jewish acquisition of Palestinian land in occupied East Jerusalem. Jews are allowed to purchase property in East Jerusalem with the help of Zionist real estate organisations, but Palestinians are denied the right to re-purchase homes in West Jerusalem inhabited by their families prior to the '48 war (which the Palestinians had nothing to do with, contrary to what the Israeli Foreign Ministry official implies in the video).
The Israelis demolish approx. 100 Palestinian homes per year in East Jerusalem and leave the Arab owners to remove the rubble, fining them $200 per day until the job is done.
