Hungary Stops Holocaust Payments, Demands Refund

Hungary is demanding that the Claims Conference, the New York-based Jewish organization which handles payments to Holocaust survivors around the world, return about US$ 8 million in payments made to Holocaust survivors. The government in Budapest said the Claims Conference had failed to properly account for the money. Claims Conference leaders said that reams of information about the payments had been provided to the authorities and accused Hungary of "depriving" Shoah survivors through "disgraceful" and "deceitful tactics."More than half a million Hungarian Jews perished during the Holocaust. Five years ago, the country agreed to provide US$ 21 million over a five-year period to help impoverished survivors of Hungarian descent, working with a Hungarian organization locally and the Claims Conference.

The money was supposed to be a down payment to help aging victims while Hungary worked with the organization on the longer, painstaking process of property and asset restitution tied to the Holocaust. The funding ranges from US$ 800 to US$ 2,000 per person annually to provide medicine, hearing aids and other necessities to the poorest of Hungarian survivors.

Two years ago, after the nationalist Fidesz government of Prime Minister Viktor Orban (pictured left) came to power in Hungary, Commissioner Andras Levente Gal began challenging how the money had been spent, asking for more details about the funds. The Hungarian government halted its payments to the organization, holding on to US$ 5.6 million. "It is impossible to identify the individuals eligible for compensation or the grounds for their eligibility" based on the documents it provided, the Hungarian Ministry of Public Administration and Justice said on its website this week, arguing the organization had shown that the funds were distributed "on a far-from-equal footing." Gal is now seeking to reclaim roughly US$ 8 million from the group, along with interest and added charges.

The Claims Conference said it had repeatedly provided detailed reports to the Hungarian government on how the money was distributed, including one exceeding 400 pages in length that included the names of all of the beneficiaries, what they got and when. "Since this government commissioner has taken over they have not released one penny and have used all kinds of excuses why they can't release the money and why they won't," Claims Executive Vice President Greg Schneider said. Hungarian officials had recently asked where every Holocaust survivor benefiting from the program was during the war, Schneider said. The organization said it would work with thousands of survivors around the world to gather that information, if Hungary signed an agreement that it would release the promised money within five business days of getting those details.

The Claims Conference, according to an email it sent to the news agency JTA, insisted that "every penny was transferred to a Hungarian survivor, not even one cent was spent on administration or any other expense." The email also said that funding for Holocaust survivors had stopped after 2010, when the Fidesz party came to power. "We call upon Prime Minister Orban to intercede in order to help needy Hungarian survivors who happen to live outside of Hungary today and comply with international agreements," it added.

Rising anti-Semitism in Hungary

The dispute has erupted at a time when Jewish organizations say bias against Hungarian Jews is at alarming heights, surging dramatically in recent years.

Nearly two-thirds of Hungarians surveyed this year said Jews "still talk too much about what happened to them in the Holocaust," the Anti-Defamation League found, the highest rate among European countries it polled. Nobel Peace Prize laureate Elie Wiesel handed back a Hungarian award this summer, saying Hungary was whitewashing its past crimes.

Jewish organizations also complained that Hungary had dragged its feet in finding and arresting an alleged Nazi-era torturer, detaining him only after a British tabloid had confronted him at his Budapest apartment days earlier. The news emerged last month while President Janos Adler was in Israel, facing uncomfortable questions about the apparent rise in Hungarian animus toward Jews.

I thought this was a satire when I saw it on the front page! Inspired by that earlier post about the endless-Jewish-victimhood-means-eternal-debt-for-everyone swindle. Fucking disgusting (great article, though - thanks). What a breeze of fresh air to discover it's actually real.

I have read David Irving's "Uprising! The Hungarian Revolution of 1956." The uprising was supposedly against Soviet tyranny, but as Fester notes, a lot of it stemmed from public anger at Hungarian Jews, who collaborated with the Soviets for their personal gain at the expense of everyone else. Imagine a dystopian nightmare where you can never do enough work to meet your quota, but Jews effortlessly sail to the top (and get rich) because of their connections.

When the masses revolted, the Jewish bureaucrats in the central government ordered the State Security Police (ÁVH) to crush them. Then the bureaucrats called in the Soviet army.

Naturally this aspect of the 1956 revolt has been purged from most history books, since Jews own most of the publishing companies.

Over 2,500 Hungarians and 700 Soviet troops were killed. 200,000 Hungarians fled as refugees. Since then, there has been animosity toward Jews in Hungary, most of which live in Budapest. Many of Hungary's prime ministers were Jews (e.g. the corrupt Ferenc Gyurcsány) until Viktor Orban came to power. Wikipedia conceals this.

Now that Jews have lost some of their power in Hungary, Israel has switched its allegiance to Bulgaria.

Irving's book is an eye-opener that will give you many insights into international relations. I highly recommend it.

Heydrich, I copied the review from Irving's site.  Haven't gotten around to the book yet but have heard him speak on the subject.

Finkelstein and his parents have spoken about the dubious activities of the Holler funds: lot of dough coming in, not much going out to the "victims."  But that was the case in fundraising in 1919. 

When the FUCK are the decent Jews going to get on board?  Can they?  Is it possible for them to confront the 9/11 truth and then move on down the line through the 20th, 19th, 18th, 17th...centuries? 

i see Henry Clifford, the chairman of the area's local Committee for Peace in Israel/Palestine, has turned over his work to Josh Ruebner, Anna Baltzer and the apparently kosher kopped End the Occupation.  Ognir had Anna on his show years ago.  She's a lovely lady, but still has her head up her ass on 9/11 and the rest of it, I assume, since there's been no mention.  Same old same old.

No, it is not possible, for two reasons.

FIRST, as many Jews have noted in their own comments, Jews tend to regard themselves as subhuman. To cope with their self-loathing, they maintain a supremacy ethos (we are “chosen”), and also maintain solidarity by fearing and hating all non-Jews. If Jews were to join the human race, they would have to give all that up. They would cease to be Jews.

Jews struggle with this neurotic self-loathing every second of their lives. They wander in a limbo of inferiority combined with extreme arrogance, always fearing that they will evaporate into nothing (i.e. be “assimilated”).  Hence they constantly whine that they are under an “existential threat.” Since they might vanish at any second, they must crush any threat to their power, no matter now trivial or benign.  The holo-hoax, and the hatred of Iran, are aspects of this neurosis.

Ahmadinejad of Iran knows all this, which is why he did not say, “We will blow Israel off the map.” Instead, he said the “Zionist entity will vanish from the pages of time.” Ahmadinejad was not being cautious or diplomatic. He was intentionally aggravating the “existential threat", which is that Jews will simply vanish. Not gassed or blown up, but erased and forgotten like a cloud disappearing from the sky. This is Jews' greatest fear.

One may object that I am over-generalizing, but these principles apply to all Jews who worship the holo-hoax. That is, they apply to almost all Jews. 

SECOND, Jews cannot change because non-Jews cannot change. Jews and their hosts form a symbiosis of neurotic co-dependence. Therefore, to defeat the Jew, we must stop being like the Jew. Until that happens, the problem will remain for both Jews and non-Jews. 

Western culture is essentially Talmudic. Average Westerners are alone, alienated, afraid, and impoverished, so they cope with their anguish by worshipping Jews and the hoax, and by hating foreigners. The host and the parasite are a single organism.

As for the holo-hoax racket in which well-connected Jews grab all the loot, giving nothing to the eternally growing list of “survivors," I have noted in previous posts that when it comes to money, average Jews are as stupid as anyone else. They were swindled by Bernie Madoff, for example. Now Israeli politicians and the Israeli central bank are sucking money of out the Israeli economy (i.e. imposing “austerity”) in order to cause a depression, so that bankers, politicians, and the Israeli One Percent can increase their godhood over the Israeli masses. If average Jews question this, they are reminded of the holo-hoax and their “existential threat.” They are reminded that all non-Jews want to “assimilate” them, which is worse than gas them. If Jews are gassed, they become martyrs, and go to their Jew heaven, but if they are “assimilated,” then they cease to be Jews. They evaporate.

Regarding “Anna” on Ognir’s show, don’t be too hard on someone who fails to mention 9-11. I myself avoid mentioning 9-11 to people, since I know it will skew the conversation into pointless bickering. Even people who agree with you in general will attack your interpretations in particular. If your opinion does not match theirs in every detail, they will call you a "disinformation agent."

That said, I do not excuse people like Julian Assange of Wikileaks, who flat-out said that 9-11 is a “false conspiracy.” Or filmmaker Michael Moore, who worships Obama, and fully supports the imperialist campaign to destroy Syria.
