On those American "hikers" freed by Iran

PBS’ Democracy Now supports elitists, Zionists, and warmongers. However an interesting item came out of the program’s interview of those two American “hikers” that Iran released last week.

The mainstream media won’t mention this, but when Joshua Fattal and Shane Bauer arrived in New York and gave a speech, they said that of everything done to them, “Solitary confinement was the worst experience of all of our lives.”

Solitary confinement is exactly when the USA subjects its countless victims to in the “war on terror.” Indeed, Shane Bauer said, “In prison, every time we complained about our conditions, the guards would remind us of comparable conditions at Guantanamo Bay, and of CIA prisons in other parts of the world. They’d remind us of conditions that Iranians and others experience in US prisons.”

Bauer then noted that he and Fattal were imprisoned due solely to “Thirty-two years of mutual hostility between America and Iran,” saying, “The irony is that we oppose U.S. policies towards Iran that perpetuate this hostility." 

Bauer and Fattal are fortunate not to have ended up in the grips of the American “war on terror,” which imprisons and tortures innocent victims for many years without charging them with any crime, or making a pretense of due process. Remember Abu Ghraib?

Bauer said, “These actions on the part of the U.S. provide an excuse for other governments, including the government of Iran, to act in kind.”
