The NATO / Israeli / GCC alliance does not seek “regime change” for Syria. Regime change was never possible nor desirable in the first place, as we shall see below.
THE DEFINITION OF “REGIME CHANGE” DEPENDS ON THE PLACE WHERE IT IS APPLIED
In the past, colonialism meant uniting foreign peoples, creating a nation, and installing a puppet government to rule that nation. Today, colonialism (i.e. resource theft) often means the opposite. In place like Libya it means dividing foreign peoples, breaking up nations, and eliminating all possibility of a central government.
If you want to steal a foreign nation's resources, then why install a puppet government that requires sizeable bribes, when you can pay small bribes to local warlords who will assist you in your theft of their country's resources? Why not do away with foreign governments altogether, and pay local militias to guard your mines, oil wells, and plantations?
This is becoming an increasingly common model of imperialism. Destroy-enslave-extract. Thus, in many target nations, “regime change” no longer means regime replacement, but regime prevention, so that no unified government can ever exist, and thus, no force can ever resist imperialism. This is what the NATO / Israeli / GCC alliance has done to Libya and Somalia. It is what the alliance plans to do to Iran and Syria, as will be explained below.
Before Italian colonialism, Libya had been a couple of city-states, plus many nomadic tribes. Somalia had been a patchwork of tribal / clan councils, chiefs, high chiefs, and councils of high chiefs. Italian colonialism changed that, and created central administrations that served the Italian Empire.
Libya finally got a modern central government with Qaddafi in 1969, while Somalia finally got modern central government with Siad Barre, also in 1969. Both governments opposed Western imperialism. Both nations’ people enjoyed peace and prosperity. Therefore both governments were destroyed by the NATO / Israeli / GCC alliance so that the imperialist resource theft could continue.
In Libya, for example, foreign oil companies are now extracting more profits than ever from oil. Exports have reached over 90% of the amount before the NATO’s attack, equaling two million barrels a day. That’s $200 million a day in profit, $6 billion a month, $70 billion a year stolen by the foreign corporations.
Also stolen from Libya was 144 tons of gold bullion worth $7.5 billion, plus $100 billion of Libyan sovereign wealth that had been deposited in western banks. All in the name of “humanitarian intervention.”
Libya has been de facto broken up, with the eastern, oil rich Cyrenica region having declared independence.
Instead of a central government, Libya now has the chaos of armed gangs. Tripoli (Libya’s capital) is now the same as Mogadishu (Somalia’s capital) with armed militias from the countryside taking control of the city and clashing over territory.
This is all according to the plan of the NATO / Israeli / GCC alliance.
The Godfather of the Libyan terrorists is the infamous Abdelhakim Belhadj, 46, former member of Al Qaeda in Iraq, and a former member of the Taliban in Afghanistan. Today Belhadj runs the biggest militia in Tripoli. Behind him are tribal militias of various sizes, including the Zintan militias that still hold Saif al Islam Gaddafi captive.
As for the NATO-installed NTC “government,” it is not a government at all. It has no real power, and merely exists so the corporate media can sustain the illusion that Libya remains united, with a real government, and real “democracy” with real “elections.”
Opposing the Belhadj militias and the NTC clowns is the Green Resistance, which the corporate media disparagingly calls “pro-Qaddafi loyalists.” This includes much of the Warfalla tribe, the largest in Libya. The Green Resistance has no hope of taking Libya back, and is focused on building self-defense forces to protect their communities from the murderous militias.
The NATO / Israeli / GCC alliance succeeded in its plan to send Libya’s people back a few centuries; reducing them to primitive tribes that perpetually battle each other in their desperation to survive. The alliance did the same thing with Somalia, whose warlords occasionally unite, in which case the USA breaks them up by sending in drones, plus troops from Kenya and Ethiopia.
Again, for Libya, Syria, Somalia, and (as we shall see) Iran, “regime change” no longer means regime replacement, but regime prevention.
WHY SYRIA AND IRAN WILL NOT BE BOMBED
Libya is geographically large, but has only 6 million people, which made it possible for Qaddafy to create a unified central government. It also allowed NATO and the GCC oil sheikhs to quickly destroy Libya’s central government, and begin the resource extraction.
(Even so, NATO had to drop 40,000 pieces of high explosive. If we figure that each NATO bomb or missile killed an average of two Libyans, then NATO murdered 80,000 Libyans over an eight-month period. Since England’s population is 53 million, this would be the equivalent of killing 88,300 Britons per month, for eight months.)
Syria has 23 million people; Iran 75 million. Thus, NATO physically does not have enough bombs and missiles to do to Syria and Iran what NATO did to Libya.
NATO conducted 10,000 bomb runs on Libya. For Syria, NATO would need to mount 37,500 bomb runs. For Iran, 125,000 bomb runs. This is not feasible.
Moreover, NATO bombing would unite Syrians and Iranians, which is the opposite of what the NATO / Israeli / GCC alliance seeks to accomplish. The alliance goal is to destroy both nations’ governments, and reduce both nations’ people to the horrendous misery of Libya and Somalia, with no central government at all.
Therefore the NATO / Israeli / GCC alliance continues the blockades and embargos against Syria and Iran, making it harder and harder for their governments to maintain control. Meanwhile the alliance supports the terrorists in Syria.
The Syrian terrorists are not unified, and never will be. This is by design. Their function is to spread chaos until Syria has been reduced to Libya.
Naturally the Syrian terrorists imagine that they will have their own government after Assad is dead. The Libyan terrorists imagined the same thing. We could warn them about what awaits them, using Libya and Somalia as examples, but the terrorists would not listen to us. They are insane, as the NATO / Israeli / GCC alliance well knows. The alliance uses them like rabid attack dogs. When the terrorist dogs have destroyed Syria’s government, the alliance will abandon the dogs to kill each other like they did for centuries. There will be no central government to restore peace and order. Syria will be reduced from a modern sophisticated, technologically impressive nation, to a backward, primitive, impoverished wasteland.
Iran is a mountainous nation of 636,000 square miles with 75 million people. With such a large nation, it is no longer possible nor desirable for the West to install a puppet government, that way the West did with the Shah until the 1979 revolution. Instead, when Syria has been destroyed, the alliance will foment terrorism inside Iran, until Iran too is destroyed for “humanitarian” reasons.
Think of it this way. The imperialist goal is to steal resources, reduce target nations to ruin, and prevent anyone from opposing the globalist / banker / corporate enslavement of mankind. An attack and occupation is a frontal assault, while a puppet government is an imposition on the target. Both means have become outmoded for nations like Libya, Syria. and Iran.
Today, the preferred method of imperialism is to use embargos and blockades to weaken a target government, and reduce its citizens to desperation. Then the alliance infects the target nation with a virus (i.e. terrorism) that creates a lethal fever (civil war). When the fever has killed the target nation, the alliance easily extracts resources from the corpse, as we see with Libya.
The destruction of Syria will enhance the embargos and blockades against Iran, while helping to isolate Hezbollah. Already the sanctions have caused extreme hardship for the Iranian people, who stupidly blame their own government more than they blame the enemy that is causing their suffering (the NATO / Israeli / GCC alliance).
After Assad is dead in Syria, the alliance will inject its virus into Iran, in the form of Kurdish and Azerbaijani terrorists. As Iran’s government fights the virus, and seeks to protect Iran’s people, the world will righteously demand that Iran be bombed, just as “anti-war progressives” and “peace advocates” now demand that Syria be bombed.
DIVIDE AND CONQUER
The viral method has been around since the dawn of civilization, and is used when the target nation has a central government that is strong enough and united enough to resist imperialist aggression. The method becomes vital when members of a target government cannot be bribed or corrupted. The Nicaraguan Contras were an imperialist virus against the Sandinista government.
The viral method is also used to help elitist governments control their own citizens, e.g. the drug war in Mexico, where the virus is drugs, along with the arms that the US and Mexican governments supply to all sides so they slaughter each other (e.g. "Operation Fast and Furious"). The drug war is a class war that keeps the peasants from uniting against their elitist masters. The drug war also gives jobs to vast numbers of government employees (e.g. the police) while legitimizing police states under the global One Percent. England injected the opium virus into China during the 1800s, while supporting all sides in a drug war, thereby bringing China to its knees.
The viral method is also effective on nations that have long-standing friction between their internal racial and ethnic groups. Congo, for example, is a collection of mutually hostile tribes that have never been united since the Belgians departed in 1960. Indeed there are now several Congos (Portuguese Congo, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, etc). When Ernesto “Che” Guevara went to Congo in 1965, he departed after a few months, realizing that the people could never be united into a revolutionary force. Then the brutal US-backed dictator Mobutu Sese Seko took power, but he ruled a small area.
Divisiveness serves imperialism. Congo is a huge nation, loaded with natural resources that foreign corporations are free to steal as long as tribal people are busy killing each other. If the tribal people unite, they can be divided again via false flags, terrorism, and civil war.
It appears that the alliance is injecting Nigeria with a virus. Until the beginning of 2012, Shell Oil had stolen Nigeria’s oil under the protection of the puppet government of Goodluck Jonathan. But in January 2012 when the IMF’s Christine Lagarde ordered Mr. Jonathan to stop all fuel subsidies, Nigeria’s people revolted. Now USAFRICOM is moving in to “fight terrorism” (i.e. maintain terrorism) in Nigeria so that the masses battle each other. The US Drug enforcement Administration is also moving into Nigeria, as it expands its Plan Mexico to all of Africa. The “war on drugs” plus the “war on terror” will keep Africa’s people divided, so that foreign corporations can continue to steal the resources, and the global One Percent may continue to rule.
SINISTER DELIGHT
We can cope with our despair by looking at all this with amusement. Consider the alliance-backed Syrian terrorists who massacre entire villages, while falsely blaming the massacres on Syria’s government. It is depressing to see this, but we can take comfort in knowing that the terrorists will never have what they want: a new government under their control. Instead, the terrorists will make Syria a wasteland with no central government at all, like the terrorists did to Libya. The terrorists will become backward peasants, fully deserving of racist epithets such as “hadjis,” “rag heads,” and “camel jockeys.” Many will revert to living in nomadic tents, blaming everyone but themselves for their poverty.
Of course, many of the terrorists are mercenaries who go where the NATO / Israeli / GCC alliance pays them to go. Libya, Somalia, Syria, Chechnya, Afghanistan, whatever. These bounty killers are either “Al Qaeda” or noble “freedom fighters,” depending on alliance needs. Today they sit with the president in the White House. Tomorrow they are “terrorists.”
Mercenary terrorists don’t care what they are called, as long as they are paid.
CONCLUSION
With Libya, Syria, Somalia, and Iran, regime change does not mean regime replacement, but regime prevention. The same is true of Afghanistan, whose “government” (led by the gangster Hamid Karzai) is as much a charade at the NTC “government” in Libya.
When NATO and its terrorists were destroying Libya, the corporate media “experts” wondered what kind of government Libya would have after Qaddafi had been killed. Now the same media “experts” wonder what kind of government Syria will have after Assad is killed.
The truth is that the alliance wants no central government at all in Syria, just as the alliance wants no central government in Libya, Somalia, Afghanistan, and Iran.
There was a time when imperialist resource theft required the installation of puppet central governments. Today, resource theft is easiest when there is no central government at all; only a collection of tribes, gangsters, and petty warlords that will do anything for a few pennies.
Israel is part of the alliance, because Israel is furious about its two crushing defeats by Hezbollah. The Jews know that Syrian Sunnis hate Iran and Hezbollah much more than the Sunnis hate Israel. Indeed, Syrian Sunnis will ally with Israel against Iran and Hezbollah -- just as the Sunni GCC Arab oil sheiks do now.
This will work to Israel’s advantage. Instead of a resistant government in Syria, there will be no government in Syria; just a collection of weak Islamist nomads.
The Syrian Sunni terrorists despise Russia, and will kick the Russians out of their Mediterranean base at Tartous.
Syria and Lebanon will be starved of natural gas. By 2020, Syria will need about 15 to 20 million cubic meters of natural gas per day, and Lebanon will need about five to seven million cubic meters per day. Iran has the world’s second largest reserves of natural gas (after Russia) and can produce 600 million cubic meters of gas a day, but is restricted by sanctions to exporting only 37 million cubic meters per day. On 25 July 2011, Iran, Syria, and Iraq agreed to build a gas pipeline from the port of Assalouyeh (Iran’s gas hub) to Baniyas, Syria on the Mediterranean coast, so Iran could sell its gas to Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Europe. However the alliance sanctions on Syria and Iran (plus the attack on Syria) checkmated this project – although the gas pipeline to Iraq will go forward.
