UK politician resigns after stating that Israel 'Will Not Go On Forever'

At an Israel Apartheid Week meeting London's Middlesex University, Baroness Tonge, a member of the UK's House of Lords, told the gathering that she felt that "It will not go on for ever, it will not go on for ever. Israel will lose support and then they will reap what they have sown."

In response to Baroness Tonge's statement, Ed Milliband, one of New Labour's ardently pro-Zionist Jewish MPs took the expected totalitarian position when he tweeted "No place in politics for those who question existence of the state of Israel. Nick Clegg must condemn Jenny Tonge's remark & demand apology". Never mind the fact that her statment isn't worlds away from that made by Ehud Olmert, Israel's former prime minister, when he said that he felt that "the State of Israel is finished" if it forced the Palestinians into a struggle for equal rights, which is exactly the course it is presently following. Needless to say, Baroness Tonge has refused to apologise but instead has resigned the whip of the Liberal Democrats. Although she will no longer form part of the Liberal Democrat contingent in the House of Lords, she will remain as independent member.

During the meeting Baroness Tonge also stated that she believed that "One day, the United States of America will get sick of giving £70 billion [$112 billion] a year to Israel to support what I call America's aircraft carrier in the Middle East – that is Israel. One day, the American people are going to say to the Israel lobby in the USA: enough is enough."  She also warned the audience that they should beware of the Israel lobby because "once they have decided to go for you, they will go for you. I bear the scars".
