Scientists attribute the dead fish to low oxygen levels in the Gulf of Mexico.
Indeed, scientists have been warning about this for months.
The [BP gulf oil] plumes are depleting the oxygen dissolved in the gulf, worrying scientists, who fear that the oxygen level could eventually fall so low as to kill off much of the sea life near the plumes.
A U.S. scientist says that methane levels in the Gulf are "astonishingly high", that 1 million times the normal level of methane gas has been found in some regions near the oil spill, high enough to create "dead zones" devoid of life.

Israelis tell aid ship it won't reach Gaza.
Presently, the MV Rachel Corrie is sitting 25 miles off the Gaza coast. Just confirmed on an Al Jazeera interview that Israel will not allow the RC to enter Gaza, and will board the boat if necessary. The RC passengers refuse to dock in Israel.

The DEEPWATER HORIZON sinking caused twisted 21 inch riser piping to start leaking in three places at 5,000 feet in the Gulf Seabed. Sadly the proven methods to STOP THE LEAK still have not been used since 042010 until today at 052010 for reasons unknown.

Is this a good thing? It is certainly a very American phenomenon. Americans have much more stomach for inequality than most other cultures, but this is compensated for by a very wide open, accessible playing field. The combination of which has made for a very successful economy and culture. Rand glorifies the individual and his will and commitment to truth as he sees it. There is no room for ‘group think’ and social well being because in her eyes all that does is water down the final product. The best thing a person can do for society is do something right.
