Despite the Israeli government’s escalating threats of violence and attempts at diplomatic strong-arming, the organizers of a new international “Freedom Flotilla” – more than 15 ships that will set sail in late May to force an end to the blockade of the Gaza Strip – says it is proceeding as planned. To assure that its passengers are unharmed, the European Campaign to End the Siege on Gaza (ECESG), one of the flotilla organizers, is calling on all governments representing participating citizens to take concrete steps to protect their safety

Thanks to Barack Obama’s failed energy policies, seven deepwater rigs were moved from the Gulf of Mexico in the last year. At least one of the rigs was relocated to Brazil.  Obama is going to lend billions of dollars to Brazil to finance exploration of its huge offshore oil field discovery. His good buddy George Soros is invested heavily in Brazilian energy.

The activists, who are of Israeli, German, British and American nationalities, departed for the coastal sliver on Sunday, AFP reported.

Earlier in the year, Israeli commandos attacked the Freedom Flotilla, a Turkish-backed aid convoy carrying aid supplies to Gaza. The assault in international waters killed nine Turkish activists on board the fleet's lead vessel, MV Mavi Marmara.

Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Andy David called the Jewish cause "a provocative joke that isn't funny."

Two Iranian aid ships carrying humanitarian relief and medical supplies for the people of Gaza will set sail for the coastal sliver in the upcoming days.

Iran's Red Crescent announced Monday that the cargo will include food, medicine and appliances and it will be accompanied by a group of Iranian doctors and relief workers.
