Israeli troops fired tear gas and concussion grenades on Sunday midday at a Mass held by residents of Beit Sahour city, southern West Bank. Residents from Beit Sahour along with international supporters gathered at the evacuated military base of Ush Grhab east of the city. People held banners demanding the halt of the Israeli renewed work at the site and called for the end of settlement activity around their city.
Most people know Michael Scheuer from his appearance on the Bill Maher show, where he bravely advocated a refreshing America-first, Israel-last policy as he was interviewed by the rattled Zionist Bill Maher. He raised the spectre of the Osama Bin Laden boogeyman by describing him as 'more dangerous than a terrorist', but his stance against Israel and his non-interventionist attitude was admirable. Non-interventionism is pretty much what Michael Scheuer is about (he named his website Non-Intervention.com).

Qalqiliya – Ma’an (19 February 2010) – Sewage from a treatment plant in the Israeli settlement of Sha’are Tiqwa has been flowing into a high school in the northern West Bank village of Azzun Atma since the early morning, local authorities said late on Wednesday.
"This morning," my neighbor Mona explained to me, "I told my husband that since the kids are out of school and he didn't need to go into town, I would cook something special and we would have a party." Mona has a wry sense of humor and I started to wonder what the punch line would be. "We were going to invite you, but instead we had a little party with the soldiers and the settlers." Mona cocked her head to one side and shrugged, smiling ironically. Mona lives in the Palestinian village of al-Tuwani located in the occupied West Bank's south Hebron hills.

A Palestinian woman walks past tires set ablaze by Palestinian youths during clashes with Israeli border police in the Shuafat refugee camp in the West Bank near Jerusalem Al-Quds on February 9, 2010.The mayor of Jerusalem Al-Quds is pushing through plans to raze dozens of Arab properties southeast of the city, claiming that the structures are 'illegal.'
On the orders of Nir Barkat, the Israeli municipal staff of the city have begun coordinating with the police before bulldozers are set on the Silwan neighborhood, Israeli newspaper The Jerusalem Post reported on Sunday.
The neighborhood houses an already deprived and overcrowded Palestinian community in the shadow of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In line with the measures, Silwan's Gan Hamelech section, home to some 100 Palestinian families, is to undergo a 'radical development.'
The mayor is to clear the legal obstacles by means of numerous court orders which would force the eviction of the residents and the sealing of their properties.
Israel captured East Jerusalem Al-Quds in 1967 and later annexed it, but the move was never recognized by the international community.
