In Judaism is Hinduism Avodah Zarah (idolatry or polytheism in Hebrew)?

The question of one God versus many gods confounds every westerner who approaches Hinduism. On the apparent level, Hinduism has many gods who are depicted by murtis, statues or idols. Idolatry, of course, is not only condemned in the Biblical second commandment, it even contradicts the much less doctrinaire seven Noahide commandments that are said to be obligatory for all descendants of Noah, which is to say everyone.

What Socialism for the Rich Costs India

It is government policy. And it is the largest conceivable transfer of wealth and resources to the wealthy and the corporate world that the media never look at...Of course, this being India, every plunder of public money for private profit is a “pro-poor measure”. You can hear the argument already: the huge bonanza for the gold and diamond crowd was only to save the jobs of poor workers in the midst of a global economic crisis. Touching. Only it didn't save a single job in Surat or elsewhere.

Bollywood's Jewish Connection

Up until the 1920s, Bollywood could not find female actors. Acting was not considered worthy of ‘good’ women. So men were shaving off or hiding their moustaches, and wearing saris to play women’s roles. Eventually, the women came. But they were not Hindus or Muslims. They were Jews.

Iraq beckons with opportunities (for foreigners, not Iraqis)

The Iraq government and business establishments here are saying ‘No’ to Bangladeshis and are keen to get workers from India to man their establishments.  What about Iraqis, I ask Mohsin, who owns a small shop filled with exquisite crockery . “Oh no, they don’t have much education and years of free food from the government has made them lazy. But Indians, we know, are very hardworking.”  In other news, many Iraqis are living below poverty level, with entire families subsisting on as little as $4 a day.

GMO Crop Sabotage on the Rise: French citizens destroy trial vineyard

Early Sunday morning, French police stood helpless as sixty people, locked inside an open-air field of genetically modified grapevines, uprooted all the plants.  In Spain last month, dozens of people destroyed two GMO fields. On the millennial cusp, Indian farmers burned Bt cotton in their Cremate Monsanto campaign.

The French vineyard is the same field attacked last year when the plants were only cut. But the security features installed after that incident kept authorities at bay while the group accomplished its mission yesterday.

The Ongoing India-Jewish Love Affair

First it was the Jewish-Hindu Summit in the 60's.  Soon after, Israelis discovered Goa, where they engage in extasy fueled raves over the Goan Christmas season.  Then came the predominantly Jewish enclave of Himchal Pradesh, India's "Tel Aviv of the Hills", where the ethnic population is slowly being elbowed out by Israelis, and where Israel has invested heavily in hydro projects.  Not to mention Israel's arms sales to India, the Mossad-connected Mumbai attacks, and other suspicious ties all directed at subduing Pakistan.
