Hollywood, Florida is facing a $38 million budget deficit in 2012 and has voted tentatively to increase property taxes and firefighting fees. So the prospect of its redevelopment arm writing off a $1.7 million loan for a Holocaust center is creating some consternation. In 2005, the city gave the center a $50,000 grant for roof repairs, and in 2007 forgave another $500,000 loan for renovations.

Members of my extended family also were in such camps. I had a total of thirteen relatives on both sides of my family in prison camps. Of these, one died of a heart attack, eight of typhus and the rest were released at the end of the war...I find it very difficult to write this but in my fifteen years in dealing with actual survivors, I have never found a single case where any Jew was gassed in a Nazi camp.

The State of Israel has always been a Zionist state. It was born in violence and hatred. Jews, mostly from Poland, invaded the Palestine area, killing and maiming anyone who stood in their way

Israel's Education Minister Gideon Saar and his Italian counterpart, Mariastella Gelmini, signed cooperation agreements Monday for training Italian teachers in Holocaust education.  Minister Saar said that, "Enhancing Holocaust studies around the world, especially in Europe, constitutes a bulwark against forgetting and denying the Holocaust.

Stwora has repeatedly rejected the charges...he has pointed out that he is not the author of the article, nor its translator, and has claimed to disagree with the content of the text. He  published the article in Canada and that the web server on which his website is located is housed in the USA and that what he did was not a crime in those countries.

This utterly predictable rebuke appeared to enrage Huckabee. “Governor Mike Huckabee said today, that the demand of ADL Director Abraham Foxman to apologize for his comments regarding the Holocaust were uninformed and misguided and called upon Foxman to apologize to him and retract his totally inappropriate and reckless attack issued recently,” said Huckabee’s team in an oddly ungrammatical statement on his HuckPac website.

A few years ago the ADL’s alleged anti-bias program, “No Place for Hate,” was tossed out by Watertown, Arlington, Bedford, Belmont, Easton, Lexington, Medford, Needham, Newburyport, Newton, Northampton, Peabody, Somerville, Westwood, and the Massachusetts Municipal Association. They said that due to its stance against Armenians the national ADL lacked the necessary credibility on human rights to sponsor an anti-bias program.

Spurious accusations of copyright infringement can be used to suppress videos that are not liked, in certain circles, and YouTube's reporting procedure favours the accuser over the accused, who is not even given the minimum amount of information necessary to be able to challenge any claim, let alone a false one.

I didn’t expect to ever be that close, but after the Wednesday December 8th LA World Affairs Council event, at which the infamous DAF (Denier Abraham “Abe” Foxman) of the Anti-Defamation League spoke, we ended up in the same hotel elevator as I was chasing a parking validation.

DAF asked how I was, to which I replied I’d have been much better if his answers had been different, i.e. expressing a willingness to change.  Another gentleman in the elevator said that I had to admit he answered my question(s) well.  My retort: the response was disingenuous.

In a new project, the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial is offering seminars to Arab teachers, hoping to wrest contemporary Mideast politics from the historical events of the Holocaust.

Like their Palestinian brethren in the West Bank and Gaza, many of Israel's 1.2 million Arabs resentfully view the Holocaust as the catalyst of their own suffering. While studying the Nazi genocide is mandatory in Israeli schools, there's little empathy among Arabs for its Jewish victims.

The University of Toronto has come under heavy criticism for accepting a master’s thesis from an anti-Israel activist that accuses the Jewish community of deliberately using Holocaust-remembrance programs to create a false impression of Jewish victimhood, in order to make it easier for Jews to push “racist” and “apartheid” policies in Israel.

-A Lithuanian historian quit his civil service job Thursday after seven ambassadors from fellow European nations accused him of denying the Holocaust.

The announcement came a day after the ambassadors of Britain, Estonia, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden slammed an article by Petras Stankeras in the mainstream weekly Veidas on the Nuremberg trials, where the victorious Allies tried top Nazi German officials after World War II. Stankeras wrote that the trials "provided a legal basis to the legend about the six million purportedly murdered Jews".

Authorities said employees of the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany -- also known as the Claims Conference -- approved more than 5,500 fraudulent applications, resulting in bogus payouts from the German government through the fund. Workers and those who were part of the conspiracy kept a portion of the payments, the U.S. Attorney's Office in New York said.
