Swedish Radio News reports that the Nordic nations are planning a joint formal protest to Israel for its treatment of peace activists on the Ship to Gaza vessel Estelle. The Estelle was trying to bring supplies to the Gaza Strip by sea, when it was seized by Israeli forces in international waters Saturday.
Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt told the joint government-parliamentary Foreign Policy Council Monday that Sweden is not satisfied with how Israel has acted.

Palestinian medical sources in the Gaza Strip reported, Friday, that a Palestinian fisherman was killed by Israeli navy fire west of Beit Lahia, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. The fisherman’s brother was wounded in the attack.

The main street from Askar Refugee Camp leading to Nablus is closed off three times every week by the Israeli army as around 1,000 illegal settlers make their way to “Joseph’s Tomb.” Each time, the street is closed for up to seven hours, leaving the camp essentially under curfew, unable to leave or enter the area.

The IDF now demands that new candidates for service in Israel's submarine fleet waive their foreign citizenship in order to join the elite unit.
The demand to concede one's dual citizenship is made at certain IDF combat units and for posts requiring high security clearance. Submarine fleet recruits receive a notification stating they must renounce their foreign citizenships in order to qualify for the prolonged training, as part of their security screenings.
Submarine fleet recruits who fail to complete the year-long training lose their foreign citizenships nonetheless.
