Ruling in favor of Transocean and BP, a federal judge on Thursday dismissed third-party environmental claims in a giant pleading bundle in the Deepwater Horizon oil spill litigation, saying the fact that the oil flow has stopped makes those lawsuits irrelevant.

In the view of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, BP is the safest company to hire for offshore work today, having learned its lesson in the gulf. “One beaten man is worth two unbeaten men,” Mr. Putin said, citing a Russian proverb, after BP signed its Arctic deal with Rosneft, the Russian state-owned oil company. Rosneft is negotiating joint venture agreements with other major oil companies shut out of North America, including Shell.

The long running legal case by the heirs of Andrew Oenga has resulted in a federal court awarding them $4.924 million against the United States (e.g. US taxpayers - BP is not liable, of course).
For the past 16 years, British Petroleum was allowed to use the land in ways not allowed by the lease to produce oil from unauthorized areas. BP also allowed ARCO and Exxon to use Oengas’ land for a fee. The Bureau of Indian Affairs refused to tell BP to stop the unauthorized use and refused to collect additional rents from BP for authorized use.

Navy Secretary Ray Mabus, who doubles as President Barack Obama's point man on Gulf Coast oil spill recovery, is pressing America's armed services to consume as much Gulf seafood as possible. A large-scale national marketing campaign will use $30 million in BP money and millions more in federal dollars, to reassure restaurants and markets across the country that Gulf seafood is safe.
Ewell Smith, executive director of the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board, said he would like to see Gulf seafood as the choice throughout the public domain, "whether it's the military or prison systems or school systems."

OSHA describes 2-butoxyethanol's odor as a "mild, pleasant, sweet, fruity". Corexit 9527, the MOST TOXIC and DANGEROUS oil dispersant compound, contains 2-butoxyethanol. The video shows an unmarked boat with two huge barrels attached to it, with a sweet odor surrounding the vessel.
Natural gas is scented with a nasty smell (the chemical Mercaptan) so we can tell when there is a leak. This warns people NOT to breathe it. HOWEVER, the chemical dispersant (Corexit) is scented with a sweet smell from the 2-butoxyethanol, which isn't perceived as a dangerous smell. This sweet aroma would cause more people to willingly breathe it in on shore, unalerted to the danger in their air.

SEA GULLS ARE FLYING RATS! They usually eat anything. But they are not touching the hundreds of thousands of dead fish that washed up on the New Jersey Shore near Cape May on August 12, 2010. Why?

They lied about what happened on 9/11/2001. They lied about the need to make war on Iraq. They lied about the reasons they started bombing Afghanistan.
So I guess we should not be surprised that they have lied every day about the profound defacement using an out-of-control oil well to destroy the Gulf of Mexico.

Because drilling can bring warm fluids up from depth, potentially melting the shallower gas hydrate, many researchers and engineers anticipate that drilling through gas hydrate may pose a hazard to the stability of the well, the platform anchors, the tethers, or even entire platforms.

People all around the country have put so much pressure on the Obama administration that it had to “do something” to look like it was standing up to BP. The announcement today of a so-called $20 billion escrow fund from BP would never have happened without mass pressure. But does this fund truly respond to the needs of the people in the Gulf Coast states?
