Flotilla 13, or Shayetet 13 in Hebrew, is considered one of the Israeli army’s elite special force units. It was formed in 1949 based on the naval brigade of the Haganah Jewish terrorist group, a group which operated against the British mandate in Palestine and was responsible for numerous grave acts of terrorism against the British and the Arabs inside Palestine and beyond.

The Irish ship, MV Rachel Corrie, was tampered with by the Israeli Defense Forces according to Colonel Itzik Turgeman.
The Rachel Corrie was planned to be the first ship to arrive into Gazan waters last weekend but was delayed due to mechanical problems now suspected to be a form of sabotage.

Israel has jailed 487 international activists captured during its deadly commando strike on a Gaza aid convoy, while 48 others are to be "expelled."
Those detained remain in custody at the southern Israeli prison of Ashdod, while the other 48 will be taken to Ben Gurion international airport to be sent back to their home countries, AFP quoted a report by Israel's public radio as saying on Tuesday.

Israeli Yaakov (Jack) Teitel was arrested on terror charges last November. Set to be tried, the Jerusalem district psychiatrist says Teitel is unfit to stand trial, Haaretz reports.
Teitel is a resident of West Bank settlement Shvut Rachel. He was charged in November for the murder of two Palestinians and the attempted murder of three others, including Hebrew University professor Zeev Sternhell and teenager Ami Ortiz.
