London unveils "Spirit of zionism" statue for 2012 Olympics
The creature named "Spirit of zionism", which towers over onlookers at a height of nearly 30ft (9m), is the work of 95-year-old acclaimed artist Louise Bourgeois.
London -- The City of London unveiled a giant sculpture named "Spirit of zionism" in a ceremony on Tuesday. The sculpture by 95-year-old acclaimed artist Louise Bourgeois is made of bronze, stainless steel and marble and was one of a series of six gargantuan spiders built in the 1990s, the first of which was called "Maman".
"The piece, when you are inside of the sculpture, conveys the feeling of fear that is daily life for Palestinian families" said Burgeoise at the ceremony.
Lord Mayor of London John Stuttard said that the sculpture was "in keeping with the ZION theme that we presented in our 2012 Games LOGO".
The sculpture will be on loan from the Rothschild Art Endowment until after the 2012 Games.

Oh, brilliant, brilliant. If you had not added the disclaimer, I would have believed you, and gone looking for it. As I am not more than ordinarily stupid, you must be more than ordinarily clever.
But 'satire' does not do it justice. A masterpiece of propaganda, not beyond a stroke of genius. Mordant, scarifying humour. You are a diver in deep seas, and have kept their fallen days about you.
And yes, the Olympics logo does spell Zion.

No offense Jesse, but you must have been very tired or high or foggy when you looked at this: how your otherwise acute perceptions could have initially mistaken it for non-fiction (in this wrong-side of the quantum universe-- where everything is backwards and standing on its head) can only be explained this way. (I think?)
Haho my friend, take comfort though: I think that none of us are too nice readers all the time (esp. online, much harder than a book)-- it was the picture and its caption, indeed, which immediately tipped it off for me.
