Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations, Gabriela Shalev, sent a letter to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and President of the UN Security Council, Mexican Permanent Representative to the UN Claude Heller, warning that Lebanese aid ships scheduled to set sail toward Gaza on Sunday could "affect the peace and security of the region."
"Israel reserves its right under international law to use all necessary means to prevent these ships from violating the existing naval blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip," Shalev wrote.
