The photo, showing the US Secretary of State and President Barack Obama in the Situation Room has become one of the most widely published images in the world.
Despite a White House disclaimer that "The photograph may not be manipulated in any way," various versions have been reproduced across the internet.
But the one causing the most attention is a Hasidic newspaper's men-only version in which Mrs Clinton and counter-terrorism director Audrey Tomason have been removed.

Brooklyn-based publication Der Tzitung's editorial policy excludes images of women because they could be considered sexually suggestive.
The ultra-Orthodox approach has come under fire from other Jewish publications as well as liberal groups.
Jewish Week's Rabbi Jason Miller wrote: "Der Tzitung edited Hillary Clinton out of the photo, thereby changing history.
"To my mind, this act of censorship is actually a violation of the Jewish legal principle of g'neivat da'at (deceit)."
The doctored photograph has now gone viral, with many bloggers outraged at its affront to women.
I have always contended that misogyny in modern Christianity is due to the influence of the Judaic Old Testament. Jesus was against Judaic beliefs concerning women, and this is hinted at in St. Paul's famous "There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus", which is a direct contradiction of the Jewish morning prayer where they thank God for not making them a gentile or a woman.
Any "Christian"who believes that women are 2nd class, or only tied to their biology (sex object or brood mare) is practicing Judaism in direct contradiction to Christ's teachings.
