Russia: Resolution to Crisis in Syria Impossible through Supporting and Arming Terrorist Groups

Chairman of the Russian State Duma International Affairs Committee, Alexei Pushkov, said the world countries have to recognize that it is impossible to resolve the crisis in Syria through supporting and arming the terrorist groups, holding the US responsible for spreading and instigating the crisis in Syria.

"We have to know that any solution to the crisis in Syria is impossible through offering financial support or arming the groups which fight against the Syrian government," Pushkov said in an interview with Russia Today TV broadcast Saturday.

He considered that Geneva Statement which was agreed upon in last June is the best possible procedure that the international community could adopt to resolve the crisis in Syria.

Pushkov went on to say that the US stance on Syria is not harmonious and weak, indicating that the US and al-Qaeda stand in one side against Syria.
