Syria has expanded chemical weapons supply with Iran’s help, documents show
Syria has expanded its chemical weapons arsenal in recent years with help from Iran and by using front organizations to buy sophisticated equipment it claimed was for civilian programs, according to documents and interviews.
The buildup has taken place despite attempts by the United States and other Western countries to block the sale of precursor chemicals and so-called dual-use technology to Damascus, according to the documents.
As recently as 2010, documents show that the European Union provided $14.6 million in technical assistance and equipment, some intended for chemical plants, in a deal with the Syrian Ministry of Industry. Diplomats and arms experts have identified the ministry as a front for the country’s chemical weapons program.

This article is standard media bullshit. The “source” of its claims is “documents,” “diplomats,” “arms experts,” and “US officials” -- none of which are identified in the article.
Elsewhere the media bases its claims on “activists” and “rights groups," again unidentified.
The corporate media’s increasing focus on Syrian “WMDs” could mean that the masses are starting to question the lies about “humanitarian intervention.”
That's interesting. Imperialist aggression is always based on one or both of the following lines of propaganda...
(1) The target nation threatens us (e.g. WMDs)
(2) The target nations threatens itself, and we must protect it. We must protect foreigners from free housing, education, and health care. We must slaughter or enslave them, and steal their resources, for “humanitarian” reasons.
With major wars of aggression, both lies are used (#1 and #2) -- e.g. Hitler threatened to “conquer the world,” and Hitler was also “gassing Jews.” Therefore we had to destroy Germany to protect Germany.
Libya was #2. The genocide by NATO was “humanitarian.” Syria has also been #2, but now we are seeing #1 with the rhetoric about chemical weapons. If the corporate media starts claiming that Syria is about to use chemical weapons on London and New York, then it’s a safe bet that a NATO strike is imminent.
Some wars of imperialist theft have little or no propaganda at all. For example, why does NATO continue its war on Afghanistan, now in its eleventh year? Who is NATO fighting? What is the threat? What is the goal? NATO governments don’t even both to lie about this. They just claim it’s part of the “war on terror.”
The masses no longer believe lies about WMDs. At the Washington Post article above, most reader comments are dismissive. Therefore the morons who call loudest for the death of Assad are now "progressives," "anti-Zionists," and "anti-war" people. These idiots cling to their stupidity with self-righteous fanaticism. They are so warped that they actually claim that Israel is helping Assad crush the "freedom fighters."
