Likud Chairman, Benjamin Netanyahu Calls on the Israeli Government to Cut Water and Electricity to the Gaza strip, a Violation of International Humanitarian Law
On Thursday, 17 May, former Israeli Prime Minister and present Chairman of the Likud Party, Binyamin Netanyahu, called on the Israeli government to impose a closure, and cut the supply of water and electricity to the Gaza Strip, an act that would be a grave and blatant breach of international humanitarian law, and considered a war
crime.
During his speech at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem, commemorating the 30-year anniversary of the party's 1977 rise to power, Netanyahu stated:
"The government can do
a lot to protect its people. […] It could evacuate whomever necessary, enact a closure on the Gaza Strip, stop providing services like electricity and water, or decide on a limited invasion of four or five kilometers to distance the range of the Kassams."
The denial of water and electricity
to civilians is a form of collective punishment and is illegal under
international humanitarian law (Geneva Conventions: Additional Protocol I, Article 75).
Moreover, international law specifically forbids the denial of water to civilians during conflict. It states under article 14 of the second protocol of the Geneva Conventions:
Starvation of civilians as a method of combat is prohibited. It is therefore prohibited to attack, destroy, remove or render useless for that purpose, objects indispensable to the survival of the civilian population such as food-stuffs, agricultural areas for the production of food-stuffs, crops, livestock, drinking water installations and supplies and irrigation works Geneva Conventions: Additional Protocol II, Article 14).

Yeah he's a prick. But with regard to this blog, I nearly deleted it after I posted it last night because I realised the article wasn't dated the Sunday I thought it was; it's dated Sun 20 May, last month. I hadn't heard anything about it, thought it was fresh news, Bibi's response to Hamas' recent seizure of the Fatah strongholds in Gaza. Anyway I left it there, still relevant news, but I thought that might be worth pointing out.
Speaking of pricks, check out right wing Zionist Israel lapdog Glenn Beck shooting the breeze with Netanyahu on youtube, here. It's some of the most ridiculously erroneous propaganda I've ever heard. There's four parts to it I think, if you've got the stomach for it.

By "Con" I of course mean Confidence Trick. The Zionists are masters at it, it seems they are natural born Confidence Tricksters. It must be genetic and learned from the Rabbis, nature and nurture in perfect harmony.
Create conflict, add fuel to it, pretend it has a internal logic to the group involved (in the case the Palestinians are presented as being internally divided and beyond help, which makes it necessary for the Zionists to intervene or 'retaliate'. Zionists and Jews are always presented as the innocent, neutral un-involved party proactively responding to the evil of others. They sell this con using their repetitive and all-pervasive mass media, over and over and over...this then (in the mind of the Zionist Con Artists) justifies their slaughter of the group. It is a neat trick, is it not time that people woke up to their tricks and stopped falling for the same old banal Con?
