Up to 80 congressmen visit israel in August

They should just hold their next session in Tel Aviv and do away with the useless formality of meeting on Capitol Hill.

Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., is spending a week in Israel on a privately funded trip sponsored by the America Israel Education Federation (AIEF), her office announced Wednesday.

The AIEF -- the charitable arm of the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) -- is also the sponsor of a trip to Israel next week by a separate delegation of lawmakers that includes Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn.

Bachmann's group left for Israel on Sunday. The 21-member delegation, led by Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va., has met with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Defense Minister Ehud Barak, a former prime minister. They are scheduled to meet with Israeli President Shimon Peres today.

The trip marks Bachmann's second visit to the Middle East, following a recent trip to Iraq and Pakistan.

AIPAC is an influential voice in Washington on behalf of Israel and frequently sponsors congressional trips there.

Along with Bachmann and Ellison, the group is sponsoring trips to Israel in the coming weeks for nearly 40 other Republican and Democratic lawmakers, many of them freshmen.

That's 21 this week, 20 on Ellison's trip, and another 40 after them --> over 80 representatives in total.

And that's just "in the coming weeks."

By the time the year is out every single member of Congress will have made their rounds in israel!

Now, that's loyalty!

In the interest of national security - deny them re-entry in the US!

I agree Qsrwave.

They should renounce the formality of meeting on Capital Hill and just go on and hold it in Tel Aviv.

Duel Citizens should be OUTLAWED from lobbying or holding government positions (also expatriate them from associating as advisors to officials of State).

This, to me is the most obvious crime against this country, yet so many just smile and wave to these dual-loyalty traders as they get on the plane to Israel.

I'm sure IF the soldier that fought in the American Revolution for the sovereignty of this country knew what was going on, they would 'roll over in da grave'.

I'm positive G. Washington would.

Why do we let these politicians back in? After all, they are not working in our best interest or will they ever. These filthy people should not be allowed to even be in office if they show any allegiance to a disgraceful place like Israel. After all, apartheid was publicly condemned when it was practiced in S. Africa. Israel needs a nice organization like the IRA in it's midst, to show it the error of it's ways. The filth that runs Britain found that out. Same type of people who sent trouble into Ireland are running Israel and dominating American politicans who are too weak and greedy to care that they are selling their own country down the tubes. Boycott everything in America that is marked with the sign of hate. 729, including TV advertisers, Hollywood films, everything. Leave nothing unignored. In fact, research your daily purchases so that every purchase you make is a blow against this despicable country.

These Congressmen should visit the West Bank and Gaza so that they could see the Israeli occupation and its results first hand, preferablly without an Israeli escort.

If putting American interests above Israeli interests makes one a Patriotic American anti Semite so much the better.
