Notice anything odd about Yale's Official Seal?

zionists become enraged when anyone suggests that Jewish students and instructors are disproportionately represented in American universities, especially the Ivy League.

Note, however, the Hebrew letters in the official seal of YALE UNIVERSITY.

What a coincidence!

I don't read Hebrew, but my half Indian/half Jewish friend assures me that these symbols are Hebrew. He believed they represented Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and I can't remember the fifth one.

Here's a site on the subject, quite interesting:

Or so I've read.

There is perhaps no more central symbol of the university’s early devotion to Hebrew learning than its official seal, at the heart of which are the words Hebrew words "Urim" and "Thummin." With the Latin terms "Lux et Veritas" --light and truth—Hebrew is given equal prominence on the University’s logo.

At least that what it says
Here

Myself, I don't know a vav from a zayin.

For those of you versed in the Bible, the Urim and Thummim are two stones set in the breastpiece of the high priest (Exodus 28:30) that were used for divination (Numbers27:21). Their names have been translated to mean: lights and perfections, or revelation and truth (1 Esdras 5:40).
