According to the U.A.E. press another undersea cable was cut off Qatar today.
CAIRO - Damage to undersea Internet cables in the Mediterranean that hit business across the Middle East and South Asia was not caused by ships, Egypt’s communications ministry said on Sunday, ruling out earlier reports.
The transport ministry added that footage recorded by onshore video cameras of the location of the cables showed no maritime traffic in the area when the cables were damaged.
‘The ministry’s maritime transport committee reviewed footage covering the period of 12 hours before and 12 hours after the cables were cut and no ships sailed the area,’ a statement said.
‘The area is also marked on maps as a no-go zone and it is therefore ruled out that the damage to the cables was caused by ships,’ the statement added.
Two cables were damaged earlier this week in the Mediterranean sea and another off the coast of Dubai, causing widespread disruption to Internet and international telephone services in Egypt, Gulf Arab states and South Asia.
A fourth cable linking Qatar to the United Arab Emirates was damaged on Sunday causing yet more disruptions, telecommunication provider Qtel said.
Earlier reports said that the damage had been caused by ships that had been diverted off their usual route because of bad weather.
Egypt’s communication and information technology ministry said it would report its findings to the owners of the two damaged Mediterranean cables, FLAG Telecom and SEA-ME-WE4.
A repair ship was expected to begin work to fix the two Mediterranean cables on Tuesday.

Maybe the cable-cuts were an attack on the Iranian Oil Bourse. On 4 Jan 08, Iran's Finance Minister Davoud Danesh-Jafari said the bourse will be inaugurated during the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution (February 1-11, 2008) at the latest.
For the bourse to work, Iran needs cooperation from neighbors such as Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Dubai doesn’t have much oil. It makes billions by being a center of trade, with a huge stock market and commodities market.
The New York Mercantile Exchange (the world's largest physical commodity futures exchange, located in New York City) has an oil exchange in Dubai.
Could the cable-cuts in the Mediterranean, and near Dubai, be a warning to Dubai not to cooperate with the Iranian bourse, located on nearby Kish Island?
Meanwhile Egypt’s communications ministry said it does not think ship anchors cut the cables in the Mediterranean. The Egyptian Transport Ministry said footage recorded by onshore video cameras showed no ships in the area when the cables were damaged.
Moreover the cables are marked on all navigation charts. They are in a "no-go" zone for ships.
I know I should be flogged for looking at this sites analysis, but it presents an interesting proposal.

The "Stupid Bowl" has come and gone and to my knowledge, no "smoking guns" have risen anywhere.
We have to look at ourselves and ask if we're letting a source of education, communication and inspiration, the Internet, be manipulated to make us sound like so many hens, standing behind the chicken coop wires, squawking and cackling hysterically, because each hen just KNOWS the sound they heard is the fox sneaking into the yard.
Don't get distracted by the 21st Century's version of "bread and circuses"... and disinformation.
We get distracted and meanwhile, ExxonMobills posts another record breaking quarter of profit.
i'm not saying to not be alert to what is going on, just to be more discreet in passing on info, like the rumor about a nuclear attack during the "Stupid Bowl" written by a Sibio Bibble. If the original poster had taken a few minutes to Google Bibble's name, he/she would have found that Bibble is a character from a "Star Wars" movie.
Be alert, but don't get so scared and frightened in the process that it makes us all stupid and ripe for plucking. Here's a link to that original story on Bibble:

That's most interesting. Ms. Faal's guess is as good as mine concerning the reasons why the cables were cut. I didn't know about the Russians scrambling aircraft to protect their own cables. It makes sense.

I didn't get the impression that anyone claimed to be certain there would be an incident at the Stupid-Bowl. People were merely speculating. We all know a major false flag attack is inevitable.
The cable-cutting incident shows once again that "they" can get away with anything.
Sorcha Faal and the site whatdoesitmean appear to be hoaxes. Sorcha Faal claims to be a researcher from the Russian Academy of Sciences, but nobody there has ever heard of "her". I can verify this as several of my friends in Moscow are academics in the science faculty of Moscow State University.
Sorcha Faal is widely believed to be a pen name of David Booth, an internet hoaxer who is a retired computer programmer from New Hampshire and author of the book ‘Code Red: The Coming Destruction of the United States 2004.’
I am fully aware that they seem to construct their evaluations out of whatever is at hand. I even remember one story they quoted as fact about Israel wanting their foreign aid payments in Euros!!! Everything they themselves write is to be taken CUM GRANO SALICE.
I do use the site as a foreign news collection site.
For those that are interested, there are some interesting links to information regarding "Sorcha Faal" at this page.
