Hagee avoids AIPAC convention; fears appearance would hurt McCain

John Hagee did not attend this week’s annual policy conference of AIPAC at the Washington Convention Center, fearing his appearance would hurt McCain.

Two weeks ago, McCain had to reject Hagee’s endorsement because Hagee called Hitler a “hunter of Jews.”

Last month, Leaders of the Union for Reform Judaism criticized Hagee for saying the holocaust™ was “God’s plan” to get Jews to invade Palestine.

But in a closed-door, off-the-record session at the AIPAC conference devoted to the topic of evangelical support for Israel, there was plenty of enthusiasm for Hagee in a meeting room packed with Jewish militants.

The session was titled “Friends in Faith: Evangelical Christians and the Pro-Israel Movement.” Speakers included Gary Bauer, president of American Values; John Buhler, founder of Christian Advocates for Israel; and David Brog, executive director of Christians United for Israel, the group led by Hagee.

“I want to take a moment to discuss with you a good man!” Brog said to the audience. “Evangelical pastor John Hagee, who—“ before Brog could finish the sentence, the Jews broke into a lengthy round of applause, ending in a standing ovation.

Abe Fucksman of the ADL was there, but he did not cheer. Fucksman hates Christian zionists, because they believe all Jews must convert or go to hell. (zionists need no help in getting themselves to hell.) Last week, Fucksman called upon the zionist community to “reassess its relationship” with Hagee.

Brog (executive director of Christians United for Israel) said Hagee was invited to the AIPAC conference, but could not attend due to his “busy schedule.” Hagee is rumored to be sitting out the AIPAC conference in the office of Joe Lieberman, watching the conference on closed circuit TV.

Lieberman (McCain’s presumptive running mate) has called Hagee a “man of God,” and will attend a Christians United For Israel meeting in July in Washington.

According to the AP, Lieberman said that, "while Hagee's comments were unacceptable and hurtful, God will judge him on his life work fighting anti-Semitism.”

Hagee is known to make pledges to israel, but keep all the money for himself. In an interview with Haaretz two years ago, he promised to send aid to israeli hospitals and orphanages, but he has yet to deliver the cash.

Hagee refers to the Catholic Church as "the great whore,” and said Hurricane Katrina was the judgment of God against the city of New Orleans.

(Hagee himself is the judgment of God against the USA for submitting to zionists.)
