The settlers

I notice that the settlers are the subject of scrutiny and criticism. Evidently it is now politically correct to blame the settlers, whose behavior is vile. But let's go a little deeper into the story. The army has been found not only ignoring their attacks on Palestinians farmers, but actually participating in them.

It should be noted that the government of Israel has funded the settlers' land grabs to the tune of 70% of costs so when Shimon Peres pretends to care I have to laugh. This joker supports forced transfer of the Palestinians! But he's on some Israel channel extolling the peaceful Rabin.

As some post pointed out, the West Bank doesn't just have settlements. The military control of the West Bank is complete with some 300 settlements, three corridors to enable military vehicles to travel back and forth from the highly militarized Jordan bank to Israel proper, a Wall that is a solid concrete fortification complete with towers manned by heavily armed soldiers, and a network of roads for Jews only. The settlements command hilltops and the farms of the Palestinians below them whose water and electricity they control.

To pretend that at this late date that the violence is an exchange is a joke! Blaming the settlers is fair enough but is also a form of damage control, and obfuscation.

It ain't about left or right, it's all about Zionism.

It's no secret that settlement expansion is official Israeli government policy, but detailing the crimes of the settlers is not "damage control". It's just one ugly aspect of Zionism, and as such it's important that news regarding the settler movement reaches a mainstream audience.

The world needs to know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth about Zionism, Talmudic Judaism and Jewish supremacism, and the settler issue is a part of that.

What I meant was that by blaming the "extremists" the government directs the attention away from itself while in fact, behind the scenes they have made it possile for the setters to do what they do, because, in fact, it is government policy.

In some activists circles it is palatable to talk about "extremists" on "both sides" and therefore avoid holding the Israeli government responsible.  The same hold true when the left calls the current policies the acts of the rightist goverment in power now.

The same game is played when "peace talks" are held and some mysterious "terrorist" act of violence, needly timed to coincide with the talks, winds up being used to continue the genocidal behavior of the Israelis.
