OPEN LETTER #47 ON 9/11 TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF THE USA MICHAEL B. MUKASEY

Dear Mr. Attorney General,

Watching Pakistanis watch our Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen flail with his arms and hands like a conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra as he tells them what their next steps are in sorting out the Mumbai attacks only serves to highlight the rank hypocrisy of the USA in its very suspicious approach to the investigation of 9/11.

India was quick to show photos and videos of the Mumbai terrorists.

An Indian news photographer actually latched onto one murderous pair at the railway station and followed them about as he snapped picture after picture of their carnage from as close as 30 feet away.  Talk about symbiotic relationships!  They were feeding off each other!

The prolonged siege by 10 men in a major city against police and military forces is way beyond my understanding, but nevertheless the prompt, graphic reporting stands in stark contrast to the 9/11 investigation.  This is the lesson to be learned.

Think of it!  Seven full years after 9/11 we have yet to see ANY credible video surveillance images of ANY of the passengers -- let alone hijackers -- at ANY of the three "Category X" high security airports from which the flights of 9/11 are said to have departed.

Nor have we had any explanation as to why we have not seen evidence of passengers or hijackers at these airports in the form of routine video surveillance tapes.

We repeatedly saw on TV two suspects at Portland, Maine airport.

So when I hear Rice and Mullen preach the necessity of a "transparent investigation" of the Mumbai attacks to the Pakistanis, I find myself halfway between laughing or crying.  That the unjustified, immoral, illegal and ill-advised invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq began at the airport gates of 9/11 is not lost on the Pakistanis or the greater global community.

Yet Mullen and Rice seem clueless about the lies, distortions, inconsistencies and omissions in the official account of 9/11.

If they don't know how they actually came to occupy this part of the world, they certainly will not know how to leave.

Let the USA practice what it preaches.  Let's conduct a real investigation of 9/11!
