psychohistorians at work?

A little over half a century ago, Isaac Asimov created a new universe, home to a decaying galactic empire and a novel form of social order known as the "Foundation."

Asimov's "Foundation" novels — the most famous science-fiction trilogy between "Lord of the Rings" and "Star Wars" — described a new science of social behavior called psychohistory. Mixing psychology with math, psychohistory hijacked the methods of physics to precisely predict the future course of human events.

Today, Asimov's vision is no longer wholly fiction. His psychohistory exists in a loose confederation of research enterprises seeking equations that capture patterns in human behavior. These enterprises go by different names and treat differen t aspects of the issue. But they all share a goal of better understanding the present in order to foresee the future, and possibly help shape it.

well, 9/11 sure shaped the future, didn’t it?

doc aumann got a nobel prize for his game theory. berezovsky is a mathematician, as is chalabi

...I’ve got an uneasy feeling that we might be experiencing the first world war run by computers, and the whole project was started with sharon’s visit to the al aqsa mosque, accompanied by 1000 cops.

The logic runs like this: sharon, on advice from aumann, his nobel-caliber game theory guy, deliberately touches off the second intifada in september of 2000, which is beamed 24/7 into american homes to establish the fact that palestinians, and arabs in general, are murderous brutes.

it comes as no surprise to learn that hamas, blamed for most of the terror,  was founded by israel, especially in view of israel's history of using false flags, and it's likely hamas couldnt blow up a balloon, let alone a bus, without israelis knowing about it a week in advance.

Once americans are convinced that arabs are capable of any atrocity, 9/11 is staged… and staging 9/11 is duck soup seeing as how PNAC signatories have been installed  by the 2000 elections, which hinged on a recount in a state that was governed by a PNAC member and brother of the president-elect.

The basic plan for the 9/11 follow-up had been in existence for decades, starting with oded yinon in 1982, progressing to wolfowitz’s defense dept document in 1992 and perle’s “clean break” document for netanyahu in 1996... the only thing left to work out would be the details.

Given the roles played by berezovsky and chalabi, there’s no trouble imagining doc aumann’s crays burning the midnight oil, trying to figure out what bombing, what false flag, what assassination, what manipulation of what market, etc, etc, etc.... will bring about the desired result... and it's not as if the israelis dont have a history of this sort of operation.

too bad these guys seem to be ignorant of the first rule of computing: GIGO.

elbaradei, who simply was unable to find iraq's WMDs, and still can find iran's nuke weapons, is awarded the nobel peace price three days before aumann and schelling are awarded the economics prize, "for having enhanced our understanding of conflict and cooperation through game-theory analysis."

uh huh.

Prof. #ffff66">Aumann: "I, too, am very #a0ffff">pessimistic and despaired. We lack now the desire to exist, we lack the patience to exist. We lack Zionism with a capital Z. We've become post-Zionists, the number one enemy of ourselves; yes, I don’t forget it's all because of us. Just because of us. My people has simply gone mad."

a canadian guy wrote a book that was supposedly a sequel to asimov's "foundation" trilogy... and he never spelled out, in so many words, the rules of governing by psychohistory...

but i read the book about a billion times, and intentionally or not (seeing as how writers often dont have a clue what they're writing about), he spelled out what psychohistory was about.

yup, the message is there: there are a couple rules.

first: you watch masses of people, and see stuff coming hundreds of years in advance: you predict things, and head them off with small manipulations, provided you see them coming far enough in advance... and those small manipulations will nip whatever in the bud.

second: you better not be caught manipulating, or your enemies will counterpredict you, and countermanipulate you... you have to keep your manipulations secret.

PNAC should have read that book a few billion times before they admitted their need for a "new pearl harbor".

Psychohistorians is really a combination of several things. Nicolli Machiavelli is the one who formalized the concept of manipulative history. He basically posited the position that history was merely a political tool used to rule by Kings. In other words, history could be completely fabricated so long as it suited the ruling power. Forge documents where used to established property ownership and legitimize sovereignty claims. The great Pavlov eventually discovered one of the keys to human behavior. Pavlov's studies eventually set the stage for mass psychology or social engineering. The manipulation of History and the application of mass psychology have been the subjects of many conspiracies. Lastly, the dumbing down of the masses has proceeded to such a degree that is possible to demonstrate without much effort. Compare the Language of Bacon/Shakespeare with common English today. Here is some support for my claims. Please note I don't endorse the following website- merely use it as an example.

The idea of "empire" (Latin imperium is authority) in modern historical science denotes the name of huge monarchist states of various epochs, which unified various ethnic societies. It is correlated with Persia and Rome, Byzantium and Russia, Britain and Spain, with different dynasties of the European, Indian, South American and Chinese monarchs.

Never and nowhere has this meaning been used for the designation of some kind of a state formation of a Judaic sense:  the facts of history are unknown, when would a small people, living at the meeting point of Africa and Asia, have been creating their empire? In other words, would they have conquered neighboring and far-away countries, asserting their authority and might by force of arms, while imposing tribute on the vanquished and demanding submission and obedience?

On the contrary, in all the available sources it is firmly established that the Israelites were steadily persecuted, that they practically at all times over the centuries and millennia went from one captivity to another, from one enslavement to another, and always were subservient to someone.  At the same time, however, they in a mysterious way maintained their national uniqueness, often, in defiance of their own practicality; they were true to the faith of the fathers and in any empire achieved striking successes in economics, politics and culture.

Depending on sympathies for or antipathies toward the Israelite Jews, the authors of works have explained and explain this real social phenomenon of them by special positive or negative qualities.   The impression is being created, that it is not about ordinary people who possess the very same advantages and disadvantages as others, but about some kind of extraordinary subjects, which were engendered either by divine or by dark forces. In any case, nowhere, unfortunately, is there a clear and scientific explanation of this phenomenon, which actually has a place in the history of European and in part of Eastern civilizations.

The uniqueness of the Israelite people is affirmed, most of all, by the authority of the world's religions and writings which could make up an enormous library.  As asserted by theologians, their faith in a single God and union with the Lord, fortified by a number of rituals and rules and covenants, allegedly played a primary role in the destiny of the Israelites.    The fundamental features of this faith lay too at the basis of Christianity, and Mohammedanism, which have united hundreds of millions of people in all the world, and therefore, indirectly, they have played a determining role in the spiritual history of modern mankind.

...like 9/11...

last time the world condemned israel was the durban human rights conference in september of 2001, where israel was condemned for its treatment of palestinians.

israel and its american puppet walked out of the conference, and a week later, the WTC was attacked.

as wikipedia puts it...

#333333">many of the potential political aftereffects of the Conference were annulled by the September 11, 2001 attacks.

#333333">The attacks took place just three days after the Conference ended, entirely eclipsing the Conference in the news, and significantly affecting international relations and politics.

World Conference against Racism 2001

we know netanyahu thought 9/11 was a pretty good deal, and he's the frontrunner in the upcoming israeli election.

but if something needs to be done in the meantime, well, tzipi livni's in control... and she's got that family tradition...

her dad bombed the king david hotel.

#333333">In the midst of its campaign against Hizbollah and Hamas "terrorists", Israel has been accused by Britain of feting Jewish "terrorists" whose bomb attack killed 28 Britons 60 years ago today.

#333333">Tzipi Livni, Israel's foreign minister, has found herself deeply embroiled in the debate - her father, Eitan, was Irgun's chief operations officer.

#333399">uk telegraph#333333"> 21 Jul 2006

israel is not gonna walk into a PR catastrophe like this without having a way to "annul the political aftereffects", as wikipedia so nicely put it...

aumann's computers have probably been blowing gaskets from overwork, figuring out what to do.

The extension introduces yet another strategic element: incentives to conceal or reveal private information to other players. How might a person, firm or country who has extra information utilize the advantage? How might an ignorant player infer information known to another player by observing that player’s past actions? Should an informed player take advantage of the information for short-run gains, thereby risking to reveal his information to other players, or should he conceal the information in order to gain more in the future?

Robert Aumann’s and Thomas Schelling’s Contributions to Game Theory

we can see from aumann's game theories why it's so important to control the flow of information...

israel, the israeli americans, exxon and their fellow travelers knew about peak oil and global warming long before 9/11, and they had to respond to peak oil and global warming before peak oil and global warming became obvious.

...all of which accounts for the AEI/CERA/exxon efforts to deny the existence of global warming and peak oil.

it's just too damn bad that aumann is being hoisted with his own game theory petard, as the actions of AEI/CERA/PNAC/exxon/israel are revealing an awareness of peak oil and global warming
