Re: Flames & Fury: Anti-US rage sweeps Muslim world 'like...
That movie (what I've seen of it) is so God-awful I don't see how anyone could sit through it. I doubt if most taking part in these protests have actually seen it. It wasn't designed to be seen - it was designed to incite problems.
Re: Flames & Fury: Anti-US rage sweeps Muslim world 'like...
I couldn't watch any more than a few minutes of it. It is totally amateurish. As you say, the intention wasn't that it would be watched, but rather that it could be used to cause problems.
Re: Flames & Fury: Anti-US rage sweeps Muslim world 'like...
You watched a few minutes of it? Impressive. I didn't last more than ten seconds.
I agree that few protesters have actually seen the video. How could they? YouTube is banned in many countries, and at least half of mankind has no access to the Internet anyway. They are too poor, or they live in areas that are too underdeveloped.
Of course, this is why the protests are so vigorous. When mobs have not actually seen a video, they can imagine anything they choose.
Meanwhile the imperialist powers intentionally stoke the protesters' imaginations by calling the video "outrageous." In this way the imperialist powers deliberately fan the flames of protest, so that Muslims seem insane, and therefore the imperialist "war on terror" is justified.
The protests also help imperialists deny that there is a Green Resistance in Libya. The Obama regime, for example, insists that the attack on the U.S. site in Benghazi was simply part of the protests.
And the masses believe it.
The real reason for the protests is that most people in those lands are impoverished and enslaved by corrupt governments at home, and by imperialism from abroad. They protest in order to vent their agony. However the corrupt politicians and the imperialists don't want you to know that. They just want you to think that Muslims are insane. So when a U.S. airstrike last Sunday murdered eight civilian women in Afghanistan, and wounded eight children (one of then ten years old), this is "justified," since the victims were insane.
Anyone who protests against corruption or imperialism is "insane" and a "terrorist."
